Kate MacDonagh ARE

Kate MacDonagh's prints explore dualities of light and dark, scale and ephemerality, stillness and movement. After spending time in Japan over the last ten years, her primary focus is on Mokuhanga (water-based woodcut) and watercolour painting. Mokuhanga is a process that does not require a printing press and is meditative and environmentally friendly.

Kate was born in Sligo, Ireland and she now works from her studio there at The Model Arts Center. She studied at Limerick School of Art and Design, Bellas Artes in Madrid, Bob Blackburn Print Studio in New York and MI-Lab in Fujikawaguchi, Japan. She has exhibited her work internationally, and had solo exhibitions in Ireland. She is also a member of Graphic Studio Dublin.
