MEET THE ARTIST: With Antony Lee ARE and Graham Firth ARE

23 May 2026
Overview

2 - 4.30pm

Bankside Gallery

RE Associate Members Antony Lee and Graham Firth will be in the gallery to talk to visitors about their work processes and inspirations.

An ex-Illustrator turned printmaker, Antony’s practice is built on a foundation of drawing, doodling and the keeping of sketchbooks. A long-standing inspiration has been the 'human' face and Antony draws fantastical heads and figures with a lot of nature imagery such as flowers and animals. Interests in imagery from other cultures of masks, totemic objects and Folk Art also feed into his work.

Graham Firth's linocuts are also figurative, depicting everyday life situations in urban settings. These are inspired by the artist's many hours spent in cafes, bars and public spaces drawing the world about him in his sketchbooks. Graham works from a garden shed using a handmade wooden press powered by a carjack.
