Hilary Adair lived on Exmoor in Somerset where she painted and made prints. She studied Fine Art at Brighton and St. Martin’s colleges of art.She then spent 5 years as Visiting Lecturer at various colleges of art before moving to Greece. For the next 11 years she was based in Athens, where the British Council presented her first solo exhibition. Her time in Greece was one of the influences in her work, which often featured archeology, landscape and gardens, and included references to music and poetry.

Her work has been widely exhibited, and features in many private and public collections.
