  Mychael Barratt is fascinated virtually to the point of obsession in the art of other artists. His homages to them are respectful and clever and use techniques appropriate to their styles. With his homages to the film director Wes Anderson, he celebrates the artist’s recognisable visual style – hoping to look like they could be stills form his films. Wes Anderson’s Dog – Fitzrovia, is a 7 colour screenprint and the commissioned shape of the PCC print leant itself to a depiction of London including the iconic Post Office Tower. The dog is a friend’s called Dusty.
  
  Mychael Barratt was born in Toronto, Canada, however, considers himself to be a Londoner since arriving for what was supposed to be a two-week stay thirty years ago. He is a narrative artist and cartographer whose career making original prints covers virtually every possible technique. During his term as President of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, he curated many international exhibitions and was responsible for launching two annual open submission print exhibitions held at Bankside Gallery - the National Original Print Exhibition and The Masters.
  
  Mychael was an artist in residence for Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre throughout Mark Rylance’s reign as Artistic Director as well as being a commissioned artist for Liberty of London. In 2011, just prior to the 2012 Summer Olympics, he was commissioned by T. V. Edwards to paint a 10x8m mural on an external wall of their headquarters on the Mile End Road. He painted a vista depicting important buildings from the Mile End and Whitechapel Roads and peopled the scene with famous and notable historical figures that have some connection with the area. The building has since been converted from offices to residential and is now called Mural House.

  Richenda’s prints are inspired by fluid detailed line drawings; progressing subconscious idea’s not knowing where they may lead. This process is the foundation of her practice.
  
  One of the most compelling features of Richenda’s work is the transcendent lyricism with which she represents the human figure. Her figures possess an evanescence and poise that chimes with her interests and former training in dance as well as fine art. Humans, as she imagines them, are presented in states of reflection, reverie, and self-discovery. The use of spare lines, powerfully adumbrate Richenda’s prints encapsulating an inner emotional life. She depicts characters’ experiences of isolation, indecision, longing, sadness, and unity, as if holding a mirror to our essential instincts and needs. Arguably, there is a Jungian sensibility to Richenda’s work – with suggestion of a collective unconscious that impels us to identify spiritually with her ‘everyman’ figures. The neutral figure in ‘Peach Horizon’ focuses out onto the horizon, encased by the hand and birds reminding us of the more spiritual protective world around us.
  
  Richenda uses traditional printmaking techniques in her practice. The etchings are hand cut making use of the etched line, hand aquatint and box aquatint carefully applying a lithographic crayon to graduate the tones. The linocuts are hand cut using traditional Japanese relief tools. ‘Peach Horizon’ comprises of two cut-out lino blocks and two zinc etchings printed in three stages onto dampened paper.
  
  Richenda’s printmaking skills and technique developed for many years at Morley College, London, under Richard Michell and Frank Connolly – esteemed master-printers to Birgit Skiöld. She continues to lecture for Morley and occasionally teaches specialist courses in Museums and Print Studios. Richenda exhibits her work widely across the UK and recently in Beijing, China with the Royal Society of Painter and Printmakers. Examples of her prints are held in the V & A Museum Print and Drawing Collection and the British Library. In 2025, she was interviewed and featured on the front cover of ‘Reframing Women’s Print’ by P L Henderson, the first book on women printmakers.

  I've always been interested in the times I live in, and most of my works reflect events and moments in my life today. These aren't special moments, but rather snippets of everyday life, because they're what make up our lives. Often, we simply don't notice them in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. My works are a reminder to myself and the viewer that life is full of beauty, if you stop for a moment.
  
  This piece, like most of my work, is executed using the traditional black and white linocut technique. My work on the plate is always lengthy enough to achieve a rich gradation of tone from black to white. Linocut has remained my primary and favourite technique for the last 18 years. And still after all this time, I find new technical possibilities of this media which help me to show my ideas and to better communicate with my viewer.
  
  Olesya Dzhurayeva is a Ukrainian artist, based in Kyiv. Her artworks have been exhibited in numerous exhibitions in Ukraine and all around the world. She is an active member of the international printmaking community, participant and laureate of many printmaking competitions. Her works feature in many public collections including Victoria and Albert Museum (UK), National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (Taiwan), Clifford Chance Art Collection (UK), Berlin State Library (Germany), Zuckerman Museum of Art, Collection and Archive of the Southern Graphics Council International (USA).

  Veta Gorner’s “Middle Way” embodies a “tightrope walk” between control and surrender, turning the etching process itself into a meditation on balance and interconnectedness. Here, the phrase, “the hand is the cutting edge of the mind,” resonates with the method. The marks laid into metal plate record every subtle move and the hand acts as a sensory organ, translating thought and feeling directly onto the plate.
  
  The primary technique combines freehand drawing onto a copper plate and printing in relief. The work engages with a Zen paradox: the image is defined not by the ink, but by the “emptiness” of the etched grooves. Ink sits on the surface, while the grooves represent emptiness beneath - a metaphor for the “Empty Mind,” where instinctive action is free from ego. In relief etching, what is left alone is as important as what is inked, teaching us to value internal space as much as material presence. The image emerges as a boundary, defined by both absence and presence.
  
  Veta Gorner is recognised for technical innovation and a multidisciplinary approach, combining etching, silkscreen, and lithography. She often bridges digital algorithms and traditional craft, using iPad drawing, digital manipulation, and deep-bitten zinc matrix plates to create a sculptural quality on paper. While rooted in traditional craftsmanship, her vision is contemporary, the work explores themes of transition, maternal identity, and the passage of time, using prints as visual metaphors for modern complexities, stripping away the superfluous to reveal the essential.

  This view of the beech trees is situated along a road between Ringland and Weston Longville that runs behind Morton Hall about 10 miles north-west of Norwich, Norfolk.
  
  Martin Mitchell ARE is an internationally acclaimed mezzotint artist. Working from his Norwich Studio in the traditional process of intaglio printmaking, producing acclaimed tonal landscapes.
  He founded the Norwich Print fair which is now a popular annual event that has gained national recognition. In 2015, as part of the 3rd international Mezzotint Festival Mitchell was invited to hold his first international solo exhibition, in Ekaterinburg Russia. His work has been exhibited in Russia, France, USA and India. In 2021, Martin was elected an Associate of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers.
  
  Mezzotint is one of the intaglio methods of printmaking, a form of engraving on copper to produce a tonal print. It is unique in that a ground is engraved first that would print as a rich velvet dark tone. The image is then worked back from dark to light. It was developed in Germany in the middle of the 17^th century. In the 18^th & 19^th century it was the high end of the print market. The technique all but disappeared with the advent of photography, and was revived at the beginning of the 20^th century as a purely fine art technique.

  Trevor Price is based in St. Ives in Cornwall, and his studio is just a few minutes’ walk from the sea. Inevitably therefore the ocean is the primary influence for his artworks. He has had over 50 solo shows during his career, and his artworks are held in many significant collections including the V&A and the National Gallery of China. He has been a member of the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers since 1994 and their Vice President between 2013-18. In 2025 he received the Print award at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition.
  He specialises in large-scale woodcuts and finely detailed dry point and engraved relief prints. This particular work is a woodcut, carved and printed from a 1-inch oak plywood block. In Trevor’s wider practice woodblocks and polycarbonate sheets are carved, scratched and engraved using chisels, blades and power tools. The surfaces are then rolled with ink and printed onto paper through a large etching press. It can easily take over two months of platemaking with the larger works before the first proof print is taken. There is little room for error and the first proof can be an anxious moment.

The Print Collectors Club (PCC) works are an annual selection of prints made specially by six members of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE), allowing the public the opportunity to buy a limited edition print at a greatly reduced price.

These prints can be purchased for £160 each. Many of the artists sell their work for considerably more than this and have volunteered to produce a print for the PCC at this price. The works will be on display for one year only at this special price and after this will return to a higher purchase price available from the individual artists.

Original prints are a wonderful way of being able to buy and collect artists’ works. They are made in small limited editions, making them more affordable than unique works. The PCC prints are made at a small scale allowing for detail and intensity in the works.

The works showcase diverse printmaking mediums from linocut to etching. Each artist has written a short statement on their technique or subject matter allowing the viewer to learn and deepen their knowledge of printmaking as a medium.
